This competence describes the ability of educators to teach students how to select the digital content that is most relevant to their needs from a range of digital content on offer.
There are many offers circulating in the digital media. A critical eye is important here to avoid wasting unnecessary resources on an unsuitable offer.
Research work could be planned as part of a project. Strategies can be taught first, for example to ensure that the sources are credible. This competence can then be iterated as the project progresses.
The competencies that fall under the area of “media education” - problem-solving skills“ enable educators to provide students with the knowledge and skills to use the media to solve problems.
